Worship

join us for worship

We gather for worship that connects ancient tradition with contemporary witness. Whether you’re seeking quiet contemplation or full choral liturgy, you’ll find a service that speaks to your spirit. All are welcome—no membership, baptism, or Episcopal experience required.

SUNDAY SERVICES

8:00 AM - Holy Eucharist (Rite I)

Our early service offers quiet, contemplative worship using the beautiful traditional language of the 1979 Book of Common Prayer. This spoken service (no music) uses Rite I—the classic Anglican order for Holy Communion with Elizabethan English (“thee” and “thou”). Perfect for those who prefer a meditative start to Sunday morning.

Duration: 45 minutes
Style: Quiet, traditional language, no music
Communion: Always offered

10:00 AM - Holy Eucharist (Rite II)

Our primary Sunday gathering features full choral liturgy with organ, choir, congregational singing, and thoughtful preaching. We typically use Rite II, which offers the same liturgical structure in contemporary language. During certain seasons of the church year, we use Rite I for this service as well.

Children gather for Sunday School during the first part of the service (during the school year) and rejoin for communion. Coffee hour follows in the undercroft—stick around to meet people and experience the warmth of our community.

Duration: 75 minutes
Style: Full music, contemporary language, vibrant community
Communion: Always offered
Children’s Program: During school year
Coffee Hour: Following the service
Livestream: Available on our YouTube channel with closed captioning

5:00 PM - Vespers

Our Vespers service is a quiet, candlelit Eucharist held in our chapel (located off the main sanctuary). This contemplative service features simple chant and Taizé music with prayers offered from the heart. Perfect for those seeking a peaceful end to the weekend.

Note: This service is not offered during the summer months (June – August).

Duration: 45 minutes
Location: Chapel
Style: Candlelit, Taizé music, contemplative
Communion: Always offered
Seasonal: September through May

VISITING FOR THE FIRST TIME?

No RSVP or registration needed—just show up! We recommend the 10:00 AM service if you’re new, as it’s our primary gathering with full music and coffee hour afterward. But all three services offer genuine welcome and the same openness to seekers and questioners.

about our liturgy

Our services come from The Book of Common Prayer (1979 edition). We use Rite I (traditional language) in our 8:00 AM service and typically use Rite II (contemporary language) at 10:00 AM. Both rites follow the same liturgical structure—the ancient pattern of Word and Sacrament that has shaped Christian worship for centuries. Everything you need is in the bulletin.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU VISIT

Come as You Are

Seriously. Jeans, dress clothes, whatever makes you comfortable. You’ll see everything from suits to sneakers at All Saints. We care more about your presence than your presentation.

During the Service

Episcopal worship follows a pattern called the liturgy—a beautiful, ancient structure that’s the same basic shape every week. You’ll stand, sit, and kneel (or remain seated—your choice) at various times. Don’t worry about knowing when; just follow along or simply observe. Everything you need is in the bulletin.

Communion

The bread and wine of communion are offered to everyone—and we mean everyone. You don’t need to be baptized, confirmed, or even sure what you believe. If you’re seeking, you’re welcome at the table.

Come forward and extend your hands to receive the bread. The chalice bearer will offer you the cup to drink from (we do not practice intinction/dipping). If you’re not comfortable drinking from the common cup, you can receive only the bread—receiving “in one kind” is a complete communion. Simply cross your arms over your chest when the chalice comes to you.

If you prefer not to receive, you can cross your arms over your chest for a blessing instead.

Kids Are Welcome

Children are full members of the worshiping community. At the 10:00 AM service, kids begin in church and head to their own program after the first reading. They return for communion. We expect some noise and movement—that’s what community sounds like. If your child needs to move around, there’s space in the back.

Nursery care is available during the 10:00 AM service—ask an usher for directions.

Flexibility

Feel free to arrive a few minutes late or step out early if needed. There’s no expectation that you stay for the entire service. We understand that life (and children) sometimes require flexibility.

Accessibility

All Saints is fully accessible with an elevator, automatic doors, assistive listening devices, and wheelchair-accessible restrooms. Our livestream includes closed captioning. See complete accessibility information on our Visit page →

After the Service

Stick around for coffee hour in the undercroft. This is where you’ll get to know people, ask questions, and discover what All Saints is really about. Father Andrew usually hangs out here and would love to meet you.

Questions During the Week?

Reach out anytime. We’re happy to answer questions, give you a tour, or just talk about what you’re seeking.

our worship style

liturgical

We follow the rhythms of the church year and the structure of the Book of Common Prayer. This ancient pattern connects us to Christians across time and space. The liturgy holds us when we can't find words ourselves and gives us language for mystery.

musical

Music isn't decoration at All Saints—it's prayer. Our choir, organist, and congregation sing the liturgy together. From plainchant psalms to soaring anthems, from African American spirituals to contemporary hymns, our music reflects the breadth of Christian tradition and the diversity of God's people.

thoughtful

Father Andrew's sermons are conversations with culture. Drawing on his background in literature and theology, he connects scripture with the movies you watch, the music you hear, and the questions you're already asking. Faith and culture aren't separate worlds here—they're in constant, thoughtful dialogue.

inclusive

"All are welcome" isn't just our tagline—it's our liturgical practice. Women and LGBTQ+ people serve at the altar. We use inclusive language for people. We welcome children's full participation. The communion table is open to everyone. This is what incarnation looks like.

WORSHIP FROM ANYWHERE

Can’t join us in person? Watch our 10:00 AM service livestreamed every Sunday on YouTube. Previous services are also available anytime—catch up on sermons you missed or worship with us from wherever you are.

Common Questions

Whatever makes you comfortable. You’ll see everything from jeans to suits. We care about your presence, not your clothes.

Probably a little, at first—and that’s okay. Everything you need is in the bulletin. You can follow along, or simply observe and let the liturgy wash over you. The beauty is that it’s the same basic pattern every week, so you’ll catch on quickly.

Nope. Just follow the crowd, or stay seated if you prefer. There’s no “wrong” way to participate.

Come forward when directed. Extend your hands to receive the bread. The chalice bearer will offer you the cup to drink from—we don’t practice intinction (dipping). If you prefer not to receive, cross your arms over your chest for a blessing.

The 8:00 AM service is quiet and contemplative with spoken liturgy and no music (45 minutes). The 10:00 AM service is our primary gathering with full music, choir, children’s program, and coffee hour afterward (75 minutes). Same liturgy, different atmosphere.

Yes. All means all at All Saints. LGBTQ+ people serve in all roles, including ordained ministry. We celebrate same-sex marriages. This is a fully affirming community.

Yes. We value questions as much as answers. “I don’t know” is a faithful response here. If you’re wrestling with doubt or exploring what you believe, you’ll find good company.
